Recreation

We want you to have lots of fun, so guests are free to use all the recreational facilities -  boats, docks, beach, tennis court, game room, libraries, lodge porches and sitting rooms with fireplaces at their leisure.

Relaxing

If we took a vote, perhaps the most popular activity at The Hedges would be simply relaxing!  Settle back with your favorite book or just watch the show that nature provides from a comfortable chair on one of our porches or decks.

We have plenty of things for our Junior Campers to do at The Hedges

Boating

After relaxing a bit you may wish to take one of our canoes or kayaks and explore Blue Mountain Lake with it’s many islands and hidden inlets.  The more adventuresome can paddle over to Eagle Lake and Utowana Lake.  These lakes when combined with Blue Mountain Lake offer over seven miles of peaceful waterways and breathtaking beauty.

Fishing

Crystal clear Blue Mountain Lake offers a wide variety of aquatic species for a  great fishing experience.  You can simply drop a hook off the dock or rent a motorboat from The Blue Mountain Lake Boat Livery.  Certified Guides are available for hire.

Swimming

The waters of “Big Blue” are spring fed, clear and refreshingly cool.  Enjoy a swim from our Private Beach.

Tennis

Tennis anyone?  Grab your partner for an exhilarating game of tennis on an authentic clay court located next to the Children’s Playground.  If the weather is not cooperating we have board games, several libraries, and ping pong to keep you occupied indoors.

Game Room

If you would like a little indoor fun, check out our game room.  There are pool, ping pong. air hockey and foosball tables as well as board games  and toys for the little ones.  Make sure to plan for our weekly Bingo Game in the Dining Lodge and our Ring Toss Competition at the Main Lodge.

The Adirondack Park

You could spend your whole vacation at The Hedges without running out of things to do. But, there is a lot more to see and do within a short distance from The Hedges.  The Adirondack museum is located right here in Blue Mountain Lake and is a "must see" during your stay.  Hiking, canoing and biking trails, as well as white water rafting let you get close to nature.   Scenic railroads, sea plane tours, historical locations, cultural events, and an abundance of other activities will make your stay in the Adirondacks an unforgettable experience.

The Bottom line is, The Hedges is located in the middle of 6 million acres known as the Adirondack Park.  Plenty of room to get out and explore.  Click here to get more information on what the Adirondacks have to offer.
